Close Calls Cabbing From Cusco To Calientes

Nearly missed our flight which caused us to have to check our bags (something we always try to avoid) and so of course our bags were late getting off the plane. This caused us to be late getting out of the airport, and late getting a taxi to the train stop, which caused us to nearly miss the train from Cusco to Aguas Calientes. These chain reactions are stressful! Luckily it all worked out in the end and we were able to relax on the luxury Hiram Bingham train.

Rio

Get it? That’s 3 movie title references in a row! I’m on a roll! Neh, a bagel.

Rio has got to be one of the most picturesque cities in the world. I’ll be coming back here, hopefully soon.

Dune

One of the popular things to do here in Natal is to rent a buggy and go sand-duning. Luckily the buggy comes with a driver, in our case Jorge. He scared the bejesus out of us a few times, but it was all in good fun!

A River Runs Through It

So if driving between Papa & Natal you’ll need to drive your vehicle onto a floating platform and pay a guy 7 reals to push the barge across the river with a long piece of bamboo. Hey, whatever works.
